Pennsylvania Ski Museum & Hall of Fame

The Pennsylvania Ski and Winter Sports Museum and Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving our winter sports heritage. It is an educational organization that was formed in 1994 by a small group from the Stroudsburg area, led by Albert Dowden and Alex Bensinger.

The museum is a nonprofit corporation recognized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and supported by donors whose contributions are tax deductible. The museum’s primary exhibit is located in the base lodge of Camelback Ski Area in Tannersville, Pa. Camelback has been extremely generous in providing a home for the museum and supporting its programs.

The museum is committed to sharing with the public the joys of skiing and other winter sports. We seek their support and encouragement in expanding programs which preserve their history and heritage.

Our Hall of Fame identifies those individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth of winter sports. We honor them in special ceremonies and record their accomplishments in our permanent exhibits.

Located in the base lodge of Camelback Ski Area, the museum exhibits historic photos, biographies, equipment and memorabilia from yesteryear. The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, American Association of Museums and the USSA are just a few of the organizations that collaborate with the Pennsylvania Ski and Winter Sports Museum to preserve and promote the history and rich culture of winter sports.
